Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Syllabus Development Held at Wiraraja University

Sumenep, January 30, 2025 - The Quality Assurance Center of Universitas Wiraraja successfully held a workshop titled "Development of Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-Based Lesson Plans" on January 30, 2025. This event aimed to enhance lecturers' understanding and skills in designing Semester Lesson Plans (RPS) aligned with the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) concept, which focuses on student learning outcomes.

The workshop featured an experienced speaker, Corina Karim, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., from the Directorate of Innovation and Educational Development at Universitas Brawijaya. With her expertise in education, Dr. Corina Karim provided in-depth insights into implementing OBE in curriculum design and effective strategies for developing RPS that meet the latest educational standards.

The workshop participants, consisting of Universitas Wiraraja lecturers, received a comprehensive presentation on OBE principles, methods for formulating learning outcomes, and appropriate evaluation strategies to ensure students achieve the required competencies. Additionally, discussion sessions and hands-on practice in drafting RPS were essential parts of the event, allowing participants to apply the theories they had learned directly.

Representing the Rector of Universitas Wiraraja, the Vice Rector I expressed appreciation for the workshop and hoped that similar activities would continue to be held to improve the quality of learning on campus. With the implementation of OBE in RPS development, it is expected that the quality of Universitas Wiraraja graduates will improve and enable them to compete in the workforce and industry.

This workshop is part of Universitas Wiraraja's efforts to support the Kampus Merdeka program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Through this activity, it is hoped that lecturers will be better prepared to face the challenges of the ever-evolving education sector and produce graduates who are outstanding and highly competitive.
