BEM FIK UNIJA Madura Holds Closing Ceremony for Evost 2024.
Focus on Preventing Infectious Diseases in the Era of Society 5.0
Sumenep � The Student Executive Body (BEM) of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIK) of Universitas Wiraraja (UNIJA) Madura successfully held the Closing Ceremony of the Event of Health Science and Competition (Evost) 2024 on Saturday night, December 7, 2024, at the UNIJA campus Photo Spot area.
The event, themed internationally �Transforming Infectious Disease Management: Integrating Society 5.0 to Improve Sustainability,� began in June 2024 with a series of competitions aimed at educating the public on the importance of preventing and managing infectious diseases, especially in Sumenep Regency.
In his speech, UNIJA Rector Dr. Sjaifurrachman, S.H., C.N., M.H., emphasized that Indonesia faces major challenges in tackling the spread of infectious diseases. However, he expressed optimism that the integration of technology in the era of Society 5.0 could provide solutions.
The Dean of FIK UNIJA, Dr. Syaifurrahman Hidayat, S. Kep., Ns., M.Kep., explained that Evost 2024 is a national and international level competition. He also revealed plans to expand the scope of the Evost program internationally through a collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia.
The Closing Ceremony of Evost 2024 was attended by UNIJA leadership, competition finalists, and participants from various renowned universities in Indonesia, including Universitas Airlangga, STIKES Rajekwesi Bojonegoro, Universitas dr. Soebandi Jember, and Universitas Udayana Bali. Online, representatives from Universitas Nasional Jakarta, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, and Universitas Nasional Timor Leste also participated.
With a series of activities rich in insights and innovation, UNIJA hopes this event will make a real contribution to education and efforts to prevent infectious diseases, both nationally and internationally.
